THIS RAIN WILL NEVER STOP takes the audience on a powerful, visually arresting journey through humanity’s endless cycle of war and peace. The film follows 20-year-old Andriy Suleyman as he tries to secure a sustainable future while navigating the human toll of armed conflict. From the Syrian civil war to strife in Ukraine, Andriy’s existence is framed by the seemingly eternal flow of life and death.

Alina Gorlova

Alina Gorlova is a director, writer, and film editor based in Kyiv, and mentors other young filmmakers in the Eastern European filmmaking community. In addition to her focus as a documentary filmmaker, Alina has experience in producing fictional short films as well as social and commercial advertisements. Her second documentary film "No Obvious Signs" won several awards, including the MDR Film Prize for outstanding Eastern European film at DokLeipzig 2018. Alina was a recipient of the Berlinale Talents 2019 and a participant in the CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator. Her new film "This Rain will Never Stop" premiered successfully at IDFA in 2020 and won the Best First Appearance Award
