The festival program of FFFF-2022 is fixed!

The program of the Female Freedom Film Festival, taking place from November 25th to December 2nd, 2022, in Germany, Georgia, and Ukraine, has now been finalized. More than 20 films by directors from Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, and Belarus will be screened. They are political and artistic statements, cinematic protests, as well as reflections on societal upheavals. The films we showcase are an invitation to rethink the world, question and change society. We also invite directors to present their works to the audience, either online or offline, and engage in discussions.

The "Female Freedom Film Festival" was founded by the European Media Initiative e.V. and is organized in cooperation with Sakdoc Film (Tbilisi) and the Center Gedankendach (Chernivtsi), supported by the Federal Foreign Office.

Position and topics of the FFFF

The "Female Freedom Film Festival" will kick off on November 25th, 2022 in three cities simultaneously – Berlin, Tbilisi, and Chernivtsi.

The "Female Freedom Film Festival" focuses on the perspectives of female filmmakers on socially and politically relevant topics. Our aim is to promote the visibility of the new generation of female filmmakers and to support the development of the young and emancipated female filmmaker scene in post-Soviet countries, producing high-quality films on a wide variety of societal and political issues.

The festival takes a clear and decisive position against the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Therefore, this year's program will mainly focus on the cinematic exploration of war and the challenges that arise from it. The festival will highlight the voices of female filmmakers who deal with war, displacement, violence, and in this context, especially the situation of women.
